2012 Golf Events:

Pacifico Bar Golf Society Rules:

1. To become a member of the society there is a joining fee of €30 and be available to play in at least 3 competitions a year. The annual subscriptions will be €10 per year thereafter.(Annual fee runs from 1st January to 31st December). If a members annual fee has elapsed for more the one annual fee period then the Members status will be changed to Guest status automatically.

  1. There will be a competition entrance fee of €5 for members, and €10 for guests for each event entered payable immediately after the event but before the presentation. (these fees are required to fund the prizes and trophies on the day of the event)
  2. The presentation will take place in the Pacifico Bar approximately 1 hour after the last competitor has completed the days event. All completed score cards must be submitted to the golf officials on the day before this time to be recorded for the event, any cards submitted after the 1 hour deadline will be disqualified.
  3. In order to book an event a €50 booking fee will be required AT THE TIME OF BOOKING IN ORDER TO SECURE YOUR PLACE. Any refunds will be in accordance of 'Booking in' conditions below.
2. Booking in:
  1. You need to put your name down for playing an event 1 week in advance, by either writing your name on the board in Big Al's Pacifico Bar and paying the €50 booking fee, completing the online BOOKING IN form on this website or by email to Aurelio, over the phone will not be accepted.
  2. After this period your name will be put on the reserve list which would be subject to late withdrawls and tee time availability of the course.
  3. If you need to cancel you must do it 1 week before the event by the same method as booking, or online with our CANCELLATION FORM.
  4. After this period it will depend on reserves taking your place or the course giving a refund as to whether you get a refund of your booking fee paid.
3. Handicaps:
  1. You start of with your current club handicap, if you do not have one the committee will allocate one
  2. Any changes to you club handicap must be pointed out to the committee prior to any competition event.
  3. Up to 12 golfers playing in a competition, the winner and tied will be
  4. deducted 1 shot, also the last place player and tied will be lifted 1 shot.
  5. In an event with 13 and over golfers playing in a competition, the winner will be deducted 2 shots the runner up deducted 1 shot while the last place player will be lifted by 2 shots and the second last place lifted by 1 shot, If tied first or last the players will all be adjusted by only 1 shot.
  6. In a doubles event the winners and losers will be adjusted in the same way.

4. Competition Rules:

  1. All competitions including stableford will be played off full handicaps.
  2. Stableford doubles the best net points to score.
  3. Strokeplay the most anyone can score on a hole is 4 over par ie par3=7, par4=8
    par5=9, this is to help keep the game flowing and not put the higher handicapers off entering these competitions.
  4. Strokeplay doubles the best net score to count.
  5. The doubles championship will be seeded ie. one low handicap drawn to play with one high handicap, all other doubles competitions will be drawn at random on the day.
  6. The four man team event the Swipe cup, ( Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Portugal
    and England. The four players must all be from the same country, There is no limit as to how many teams from each country,With the best 3 Stableford scores to count.
  7. Each competition will be played for prizes ie 1 to 12 players 1st & 2nd, 13 and over 1st 2nd & 3rd as well as trophies and replicas in the majors.
  8. A players score card must be handed in to the Pacifico Bar within one hour of the player finishing play.
  9. In the event of a dispute of any kind whatsoever the Captains decision of the resolution on the matter will be fully binding and non negotiable.

5. Guests:

  1. Guests are very welcome to play in any of the competitions depending on availability and compliance with the society rules such as rules 1,2 & 3 etc.
  2. They will be subject to a €5 fee over and above the green fee price to go towards the prizes.Guests are also welcome to play in the major competitions ie: Trophy events but will not be able to win the Major trophy, only the prizes or in some cases an extra guest trophy.
